Mandate dates

NACH Debit mandates have some date attributes.

These are the main fields that appear in an NACH Debit mandate.

Date fields

  • Date of Mandate (only relevant for physical variant) - the date in the top right corner of the physical mandate.

  • First Collection Date (start date) - the first date on which an ACH Debit transaction can be charged. Must be greater than Date of Mandate.

  • Final Collection Date (end date) - the final date on which an ACH Debit transaction can be charged. Max 30 years from Date of Mandate.

Processing dates

  • Acknowledgement Date - the date on which the source input was acknowledged by NPCI Mandate Management System. This is recorded as an acknowledged mandate, with UMRN.

  • Response Date - the date on which the acknowledged mandate received a response from the destination bank.
