Amend a subscription

You can edit the amount or the name of a subscription. If you need to amend anything else, you'll need to cancel the subscription and create a new one.

Subscriptions always use 'Maximum amount' mandates. The LotusPay subscription logic allows you to vary the charge amount to be anything up to and including this maximum amount. For example, suppose you start a customer's subscription with an amount of Rs 1,000:

• Reducing the subscription amount: You can reduce the charge amount to Rs 900 without asking the customer for authorisation. If your customer is not willing to retain a mandate which has a higher amount than the subscription amount, you can invite them to authorise a new mandate, or cancel the subscription and create a new one with the lesser amount.

• Increasing the subscription amount: If you need to increase the amount to anything above Rs 1,000, the customer must authorise a a new mandate.
